Our Aims
The current work programme for the period extending to 2008 will continue to address the main identified barriers to further recycling and increased use of recycled and secondary materials in higher value applications.
This work programme has five main Themes each aimed at addressing a particular barrier:
Capital Support to Increase Quality Supply

Delivering Information
The AggRegain website is WRAP’s primary means of delivering robust, accessible information on all aspects of sustainable aggregates. Substantial further development is planned to provide information and assistance to all sectors of the aggregates supply chain.

Raising Awareness
This theme is aimed primarily at end-users in the supply chain: clients and their contractors, specifiers and those involved in procurement. The theme includes activities in training, promotion and dissemination.

Overcoming Regulatory & Legislative Barriers
Work under this theme aims to facilitate solutions to problems, be they real or perceived, that arise in the aggregates supply chain due to regulation and legislation. Particular examples include definition of waste and point of recovery, clarification of waste management regulations and planning requirements.

Supporting Research
WRAP works closely with the DTI in managing a research programme aimed at the construction sector, including for example, alternative materials for use as construction aggregates.
