Natural England

Natural England was formally established in October 2006. It is a new integrated agency, comprising what was English Nature (EN), the landscape, access and recreation elements of the Countryside Agency (CA), and the environmental land management functions of the Rural Development Service (RDS). The remit of Natural England is a single independent statutory organisation championing integrated resource management, nature conservation, biodiversity, landscape, access and recreation, building on the world-class strengths and scientific and other expertise of the existing organisations.
