Golder's Sustainable Resource Management Tool

Golder's Sustainable Resource Management Tool has been developed in order to assist in the design of the most sustainable approach to handling demolition wastes arising from a site, coupled with the import of aggregates required for the ensuing construction works.

Appreciating that sustainability is a balance between economic, environmental and social parameters, you will be asked to fill in details on your planned demolition project. Based on these details, the tool will then calculate indicative quantitative results for a range of indicators, including:

  • energy consumption
  • volume of truck movements
  • indicative haulage and disposal costs
  • indicative project total costs.

Note that the required waste quantities for the data entry can be taken directly from Site Waste Management Plans developed for your project and the results of the tool can provide input to where each waste stream can be routed.

Each of these calculations is carried out for the pre-determined range of materials handling scenarios:

  • Scenario A: conventional, 0% recycled
  • Scenario B: selective 1, 20% recycled
  • Scenario C: selective 1, 40% recycled
  • Scenario D: selective 2, 60% recycled
  • Scenario E: selective 2, 80% recycled
